Hello, my name is Eric I've taught AP Calculus and AP Physics (Calculus and trig based) for 18 years.
Here are a few of my other qualifications:
1. After high school, I spent 6 years in the Navy as a nuclear reactor operator aboard a nuclear submarine I then attended Georgia Tech, where I received a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering graduating with highest honors.
2. While at Georgia Tech, I spent 2 years as a teaching assistant teaching heat transfer and thermodynamics. This was an experience I enjoyed so much that I eventually became a classroom teacher.
3. After 1 year as a HVAC Design Engineer, I started teaching math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II)then AP Physics AP calculus for thelast 15 years.
4 My AP exam pass rate was 100% for the first 3 years. Every year since, almost all my AP Calculus students (math and physics) have passed the AP exam.
6. In fact, College Board recognized my SWD AP Calculus class as having the most African Americans pass the AP calculus exam in USA in it's "2007 report to the Nation".
I can offer you both the clear explanations of an experienced AP teacher proficient in all classroom technology and the expertise of an engineering professional.
I am a talented, energetic, fun, demanding teacher. Students respond well to my teaching and sense of humor. I somehow make math and physics and engineering "cool."
In fact, on the website "ratemyteacher” I have the highest rating at my school where former students state "Rit is the best teacher I have ever had in college or high school", and "The reason I became a physics major at Harvard."
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
