My name is Johanna P. After graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in History and minor in Art History last May, I moved to Atlanta as part of the Teach for America program. I just finished my first year as a 6th grade Math and Science teacher in DeKalb County Schools. I am certified in Special Education K-12 with a Reading Endorsement. I have experience working with children with dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, processing deficits, and mild intellectual disabilities. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a volunteer literacy tutor in DC public schools. I was also the chair of the Georgetown University History Bowl for high school students. I organized and wrote history questions for high achieving students in the DC metro area.
