Hello my name is Dr. Darius.
I have over 23 years of experience in assisting people in various settings such as colleges, hospitals, prisons, group homes and other areas where people are learning and or attempting to make changes in their lives.
My credentials which most highlight the position I am apply for are as follows:
Currently, I am the Program Director/Professor at Great Basin College in the School of Human Services.
Additionally, I currently teach as an adjunct at Argosy University School of Criminal Justice
and Forensic Psychology
programs. Previously at AIU during my full-time tenure I served as Dean of the Day and was the go to person for that day for all departments and students.
I am also a Board License Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor and I also an Approved Clinical Supervisor by the National Board for Certified Counselors
As well I am able to supervise students in the academic and clinical setting. I have previous teaching experience as an adjunct Professor at Mercer which is CACREP approved.
My professional experience spans the Correctional, Probation and Criminal Justice industries, in which I have mostly worked in Mental Health and Case Management positions. My most highlighted experience occurred while serving as a Death Row Counselor during my tenure at the Department of Correction for the State of Virginia.
I have clinical experience working children, teens, adults, culturally diverse populations, family and career counseling, and alternative life styles. I have also served in the role of Clinical Director and LPC clinical supervisor.
In addition to previously serving as an addiction and mental health counselor for Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences and Ridgeview Institute, I have my own private practice and I am currently a provider for several insurance companies such as CIGNA-EAP, Tri-Care, all services for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna and Pro-Aetna. Additionally I am a referral counselor via CIGNA-EAP and the National Football
League Players Association
