Hello my name is Dr. Darius.

I have over 23 years of experience in assisting people in various settings such as colleges, hospitals, prisons, group homes and other areas where people are learning and or attempting to make changes in their lives.
My credentials which most highlight the position I am apply for are as follows:

Currently, I am the Program Director/Professor at Great Basin College in the School of Human Services.
Additionally, I currently teach as an adjunct at Argosy University School of Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology programs. Previously at AIU during my full-time tenure I served as Dean of the Day and was the go to person for that day for all departments and students.

I am also a Board License Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor and I also an Approved Clinical Supervisor by the National Board for Certified Counselors
As well I am able to supervise students in the academic and clinical setting. I have previous teaching experience as an adjunct Professor at Mercer which is CACREP approved.

My professional experience spans the Correctional, Probation and Criminal Justice industries, in which I have mostly worked in Mental Health and Case Management positions. My most highlighted experience occurred while serving as a Death Row Counselor during my tenure at the Department of Correction for the State of Virginia.

I have clinical experience working children, teens, adults, culturally diverse populations, family and career counseling, and alternative life styles. I have also served in the role of Clinical Director and LPC clinical supervisor.

I am a Board Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have experience working with children and adults with ADD/ADHD as a professional counselor.

Aspergers

I have 10 years of experience working with behavioral and DSM-IV-TR disorders including Aspergers and as recently as 2011, I had an adult student at the college level in several of my classes with Aspergers. I am a Board License Professional Counselor trained in such disorders as well as I am Nationally Certified as a Counselor. I am clinical and skillful when working with DSM disorders.

Criminal Justice

I have a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice, a Masters in Criminal Justice, a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language, and a PhD in Human Services and Professional Counseling. I have 20 years of work experience in the Criminal Justice/Mental Health field.

Dyslexia
