For over 15 years, I've been involved in working with international students who want to learn or make perfect their English language skills. My students' abilities have ranged from beginner to advanced. I have worked with children, international MBA students and adults in the workforce. I am a certified ESOL instructor having completed a 100 hour TESOL course.
What makes me different from other tutors? My love of learning about and working with people from other cultures. I understand their confusion and frustrations learning this complicated, slang and multi-dialect English language. I studied French for 9 years and remember when traveling abroad my reluctance to use the language for fear of being humiliated or misunderstood!
I make learning English realistic and fun. I believe it is very important for a student to gain confidence through using the language successfully and have always encouraged my students to talk and not worry about correctness of grammar or pronunciation. That comes later - once the student wants to and is ready to move to the next level in the learning of English. First speaking and listening; then reading and writing!
