While in Saint Louis, I was a substitute teacher for Saint Louis Public Schools and an instructor for an outreach program called Students Teaching AIDS to Students through Washington University School of Medicine. I taught HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention in high school health classes. Last semester I also taught with another outreach program called Young Scientist Program in which I taught students simple laboratory experiments and the scientific basis behind them. Before going to Saint Louis, I was a tutor and mentor at the International Community School in Avondale, Georgia. At this school I worked with refugee and international students in different grades for a year and half. I have also taught music theory for about a year and tutored students on various instruments for a year. I really enjoy working with eager students and helping them reach their potential. It takes effort, support and encouragement to help students achieve academic success and I enjoy aiding students in that process.
