I am a certified teacher with 20+ years experience teaching and tutoring children and adults, including regular and special education students, gifted students, and ESOL students. I hold a Master's Degree in Education and have had extensive postgraduate training in the teaching of English as a Second Language and Reading. One of my strengths is my individualized approach to instruction, whereby I assess the learner's current abilities, then target specific areas of instruction and develop lessons that specifically address individual needs and interests. Reading

I am certified as a Reading Specialist at the Masters level, and have many years of experience teaching reading to students of all ages. I specialize in early literacy, but can tailor a program of study for all ages, including test-prep skills and ESL students.

Writing

I am a semi-retired English / Language Arts teacher. I am glad to help students of all ages improve their writing skills. I have worked with students from elementary school through college and beyond to improve their written language. In addition, I have worked with college undergrads and grad students on proofreading and editing papers in a variety of subjects. I am very familiar with writing in APA format.

English

I am certified in the field of English as a foreign language, and have eight years of experience working with both children and adults wishing to improve their English.
