Hi!
My name is Joshua, but folks call me Josh. For the last ten years I've helped people learn about the Bible through free home Bible studies. Now I'm looking to share my other knowledge and skills with students that truly need assistance.
In the world we live in today, many facets of language are being lost. Instant messaging, texting, email; all trick young students into being lax with their spelling, grammar, and writing, which can be detrimental to furthering their education. High grades in English, Literature, and Writing are expected in many colleges, and the ability to write and understand in-depth messages is valuable to many employers. The jump in expectations between grade school and college can be a shock to students, as well. Many are ill prepared to handle the assignments they are given, finding the skills they were taught in high school to be lacking. I can help with that.
Throughout my own schooling, English and the Language Arts were subjects I excelled at, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Writing has been a passion of mine for many years, particularly creative writing. From grade school through college, I excelled in writing papers, book reports, and essays. The study and analysis of literature became second nature to me.
In addition, I've been an ongoing member of a public speaking and teaching course through my church since I was five years old. I've spoken in front of groups larger than one hundred and thirty people, on a wide variety of subjects. For ten years I've taught people about the Bible, adjusting my methods to each person individually to help them best learn and, most importantly, understand what they're being taught.
I offer these skills, this knowledge to help benefit you or your child, to help prepare them for what's expected in higher levels of education. I truly hope that I am able to help your child, not just learn, but understand and enjoy these subjects.
