Hello,
My name is Marcela. In 2003 I received a Master’s Degree in Teaching English (ESL) and French at the University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic. I have been teaching since my early college years and have worked with people of various levels as well as ages and group sizes. I am currently enrolled in a TEFL advanced certificate online course.
I carefully prepare and structure my classes to make sure that there is time for everything I have planned, including games, songs, videos, etc. My classes are highly interactive. I always encourage my students to use new words and grammar in their own context during the time of learning to facilitate retention. I have plenty of additional teaching materials on hand to supplement a textbook if needed or requested. I believe that my positive attitude and outgoing personality will create a fun yet results oriented learning environment.
Not only am I fluent in Czech, English and French but I also have a basic knowledge of Spanish, Russian and Latin language structures. I believe that gives me a great advantage when it comes to understanding my students and the process of learning a foreign language they go through. I am married to a native speaker and I have been exposed to everyday English for over nine years.
