About Lisa

I have been teaching since 1999, with extensive experience with kindergarten through 8th grade. I have taught general and special education math, reading, and language arts, as well as co-taught and self contained special needs classrooms. I am dual certified in both general and special education. I have an MEd in education and a Master's degree in counseling. I believe my background gives me a unique ability to work very well with students who exhibit problems in learning, behavior, attention deficit disorders, and spectrum disorders such as Asperger's and Austism.

My available hours are Monday through Friday, afternoons and evenings. I would love the opportunity to work with children who are homeschooled as well. If requested, I will develop a detailed education plan to help you or your child access the curriculum in a fun, positive way. For younger students I use games, positive reinforcement, and rewards to help motivate your child.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,
Lisa A.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
