I hold an Ph. D. in Physical Chemistry from Texas A&M University, and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with minors in Mathematics and Physics from The University of South Florida. I worked in private sector business during which time I received 21 United States patents and 6 European patents covering a wide range of technology in the polymer materials science field. I have directed the research study of 30+ co-operative education and intern students from Universities all across the United States.
My love of Science and Engineering is second only to my love of teaching. I am a dedicated instructor with a very down to earth focus intended to put students' at ease and to help them conquer their challenges with chemistry, math, and physics. In Fall of 2010, I joined the faculty of Georgia Perimeter College's Newton campus where I teach General and Organic Chemistry for Science majors. In addition, I have recently taught introductory chemistry for Allied Health Science students who are interested in careers in nursing, pharmacology, and other health related fields.
My goal is to help people understand science and technology and to help them lose their fear of topics that are new and abstract. I believe in forming an intellectual connection with my students and pushing them outside their comfort zones so that real learning and intellectual growth is the outcome of their experience with me.
