Hello Students and Parents!
I completed my undergraduate degree at Georgia College and State University. I received my B.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing in 2010. I have an eye for details, and I love poetry and literature. I completed a portfolio of creative works and a thesis paper.
From August 2011-May 2013, I was a Spanish teacher at Southwest Georgia Academy. I taught ninth and tenth grade Spanish and sixth grade English and twelfth grade creative writing in a college preparatory school. I am a certified teacher in English grades 6-12. I traveled to a small town, not only to learn more about becoming a teacher and being certified, but also to begin a writing project of all my experiences in a new place.
I have also tutored seventh graders in creative writing, and we covered all genres including reading comprehension, poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. Each student was able to read their work in front of their friends and families and submit their piece to the Literary Arts Magazine, The Peacock's Feather.
I also helped students on www.tutor.com with English related questions as well as career help for adults.
I have experience tutoring a 10th grade high school student with essay writing and a seventh grade student with writing, grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
I love learning new things and sharing my love of literature and learning, and I hope to help you or your child succeed!
Thanks,
Emilee
