I recently earned my Master’s degree from Ohio State University in Art History. I have a passion for grammar and academic writing, evidenced by my publication in an academic journal and book. I am knowledgeable in MLA and Chicago styles of formatting and possess excellent time management skills.

Due to my education in Art History I have a solid understanding of World History, historical contexts, Asian History, and religion and philosophy. I also have the ability to connect with pre-teens and teens through modern art and popular culture; I have focused on these subjects in areas of my education as well.
I believe one learns by doing and that grammar, writing style, and academic expression through critical thinking are skills everyone can learn. The feeling of expressing one’s opinions and research through writing is empowering and enjoyable when done effectively.

Writing

Writing is a powerful tool. Whether used as a persuasive device or as an exposition of facts, better writing skills help students express themselves more clearly both on and off the page. I have always loved the tools of writing (grammar, syntax, vocabulary, etc.) and felt that in high school and college writing gave me a way to stand out among other students. Good writing skills are easy to learn but are indespensible in today's competitive education and employment environments.

World History

I love history! My background in Asian art history gives me insight into a variety of areas of world history outside of Europe, as well as the relationship between East and West. History is fun and can teach us a lot about our own culture through others and their history.
