As a tutor/teacher, my single goal is this: the continued improvement of my students. I work diligently to diagnose students' individual needs and then build a program especially designed to meet those specific needs. My diagnosis procedure includes standardized tests and quickly pinpoints areas that should be stressed through my efforts. Students then build or improve skills through discussion sessions with me, tests administered by me and various exercises and projects. Other avenues might also be pursued depending on the particular individual needs.
As a classroom teacher and tutor, I have been successful in such efforts. I have taught on the elementary, high school and college levels in grammar skills and mass communication-journalism. In addition, I am a successful journalist -- editing and writing -- and creative writer.
Further, I am well versed in history and the arts. I have read extensively on history and paint with oils. I have sold several of my paintings.
