At the age of about 18 months my parents discovered I was deaf and from that point forward they sought to give me every available opportunity to succeed. At age 5 I was enrolled in school and began learning American Sign Language. But not only did my parents want me to communicate with ASL, they also desired they learn to speak orally and read lips. This has afforded me the best of both worlds as I see less go between the deaf and hearing environments.
I believe this experience qualifies me to help you learn American Sign Language at your own pace and also learn how to communicate with someone who is hard of hearing.
Currently, I am the ASL teacher at a private school in Kennesaw. I am confident in my system for helping you learn how to communicate effectively with people in your life who are deaf and use ASL as there primary mode of communication.
As to my personal life, I am a wife and mother of three grown children. I enjoy cooking, exercising, the outdoors, sports and traveling.
If you are just interested in learning ASL or if you are a student learning to be an ASL interpreter and you would like for me to help you, please contact me. I am lots of fun and I will help you work hard to achieve your goal to learn ASL. Let's begin soon.
