I am a licensed school counselor and college level teacher, as a graduate of California State University. I have taught General Education courses at a business college and substitute taught grades K-8. I specialize in study skills, test anxiety, organization as well as math, reading and grammar.
Most recently, I worked with a 12 year old who was stuck on a 4th grade level and was able to bring the student up to her 7th grade skill set. I also have tutored ages 6-12. I specialize in grades 8 and under.
As a counselor, I believe working one on one with a student can really help a child advance. There are many barriers to learning in a classroom and any extra help is absolutely necessary. Tutoring isn't necessarily for a struggling student, but to help the child keep their academics sharp and stay ahead of the curve. A little something special about myself is that I currently have 2 children's books written and close to signing a deal with a publisher on the first book!
