I have a degree in Physical Therapy, but my gift is in working with children. I am a good communicator, and have strong intuitive skills. I have worked in private pre-schools for more than ten years. I have completed education courses in child development and language arts. This past year, I worked with groups of home schooled children as a science teacher. I taught Marine biology to K-3rd and Zoology to 3rd- 5th graders.
My own (grown) children have given me a broad experience with tutoring: one was gifted, one had ADD, and one had difficulty learning to read (SLD). They have all 3 graduated from college.
My philosophy in tutoring is based on appreciating the strengths and interests of the student. This gives me a place to start so that the student is engaged and active in learning.
I am a highly creative and innovative person. I can make learning fun, fascinating and relevant for each student!
