I am a German native and I came to the US after graduating high school in 1984. My family is still in Germany, so I am still close to my cultural background, and I speak the language frequently.

My first career was in Accounting. I received my BS in Accounting in 1995 and held a CPA certification until 2005. I worked in private industry in accounting for over 17 years, with the last 10 years in a controller position.

My second career is in teaching. I recently graduated with a Master in Arts in Teaching degree - Special Education, K-12. I have personal experience raising a child (a rising 10th grader) with Asperger Syndrome and ADHD.

My philosophy of education can be summed up as follows: Every child can be successful if the teacher adjusts his or her teaching style to match the unique learning style of the child.
