I am a retired Math and Social Studies teacher with experience with grades 9 - 12. I believe in action learning, which means I try to apply each principle learned to a everyday life. For several years I have successfully worked with students of all backgrounds and skill levels. Several assignment had me focused on working with high risk students who had to pass the state exam to graduate. My pass rate record for these students was over 90%. My Math experience is on Algebra, Pre Algebra, Senior Math, Pre Calculus, Probability and Statistics. Calculus, Geometry.
I bring maturity and wisdom to my students, as well as flexibility in approach. I also have extensive travel experience. Not just in the US but also in Europe. Having this background allows me to bring History and social studies alive to my students. My Political Science background is also unique. My extensive teaching experience in Government and the judicial process allows me to explain to students how our US system works.
I currently spend 25% of my time tutoring students in Math and plan to spend during the next phase of my teaching career almost exclusively in tutoring.
