Hello,

I work for Hibu/YellowBook as a Client Services Representative and advertising executive and serve as Music Director in my church. I have taught adults and children to play the piano and organ, as well as learn how to sing, for over 30 years. I also have studied business, and worked hard to attain my Doctorate in Business Administration and reach the peak of my profession. Now, it is time to share that knowledge with others.

I have recently served with PALS as a computer instructor, serving low income ladies who are seeking their GED and are preparing for the job market. ages in the group range from 16 to 80 and it has been thrilling to see them succeed and learn that the computer is their path to a career.

I would be best suited to working with students in Music or the Arts, but I have strong capabilities in Law and Government, Constitutional Law, and general business subjects as well.

I am a kind yet firm teacher who sets expectations and then leads my students to use their minds to solve problems and form habits of logical thought. I believe in teaching personal responsibility and how to adapt to any situations that one may encounter.

Thank you for considering me to help with the most important part of your lives: your child. I take the responsibility of teaching seriously, and I am glad that you want your child to excel through tutoring.

Music History

As a part of my college music training, I studied that various composers and methods of the eras of music. Having a good understanding of the elements of music from the time of the composer being played or sung gives the performer and insight into the best way to perform the piece in a manner consistent with the intent of the composer.

No matter what you play, knowing how a piece was intended to be performed will guide you to a finer performance standard and produce a more satisfying performance for your audience. As a counterpoint, using styles and methods of another era to write new music can lend interest and a familiar feel to a new composition.

During my studies at Yakima Valley College, I studied basics of photography for one year which included dark room techniques and camera techniques. I currently use a Nikon L100 on a daily basis to shoot pictures of homes and autos for my work. I also am competent in digital processing of pictures with PhotoShop and other software.
