I have over 20 years of experience of working, tutoring, and teaching students. My favorite subjects are math, reading, and English. Although, I enjoy other subjects such as social-studies, history, spelling, and etc. I love and enjoy working with children, teenagers, and adults. I am a people person and enjoy communicating with others. I raise a younger brother who is now 20 and desires to take different learning trades and love Soccer. I also had the pleasure of raising a nephew who is now attending Troy University and Track and Field. I have two children, 14 and 16. I have enjoyed tutoring my relatives, children, and other people children as well as students.
I have had the experience of working in a daycare for some years. In 2005, I received my CNA-License and have worked for several years as a nurse. I also attended Kaplan University (online) and graduate in 2010 with an Associate Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Education Paraprofessional. In the meantime, I am enrolled at GCU- Grand Canyon University (online), from which I will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education in April 2014. I will then continue to pursue my Masters in Education K-12/Special Education. I am CPR and 1st Aid certified. In addition, I still work as a nurse during the week. I tutor students in need, including special needs students. I work with ESL and ELL students, too. My tutoring methods, strategies, techniques, and learning styles include instructions and directions for students to learn and to have a focused, safe and secure learning environment, as well as a manageable time to learn. My mission is that students will learn the value of learning. My vision is for teachers to teach students the ability to learn all required academics in a reasonable time. My goal is for all students to learn. I am aware that no two students learn at the same pace. Moreover, patience is the key for teachers to teach and tutor any student. Students can be successful only if they try; however, students are always successful when they are learning. Based upon my experiences, I will use all applicable teaching and learning methods for the content within my students' instructional lessons.
