I have taught first grade for 10 years. During this experience, I have worked to help the below grade level students become successful learners and with the gifted children to challenge them to meet their highest potential. I have received the distinct honor of being my school's Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Month. I truly make a difference in the lives of my students not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. I use a variety of teaching techniques to ensure that I maximize learning. I absolutely love teaching and feel passionate about my students making significant gains throughout the school year. In my classroom I make time during each day to work with children one-on-one, as this is the most valuable way to reach the children's unique learning styles. I think I would be an excellent resource for any child that needs additional assistance, a bridge for the summer, or an extra challenge to maximize learning.
