Hi, I am Carlton. I was a German major and have studied in Germany twice: once immediately after high school and again during my junior year of college. Even though I am not degreed in German, I feel very comfortable in the language from my residence around native speakers. I plan to use the language freely with my students to promote immersion. I have had the privilege of substitute teaching for over ten years, and my love of and competency in English, vocabulary, and math have deepened and sharpened as a result. Currently, I am studying to become a regular teacher. I look forward to sharing my experience to meet your needs.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been a substitute teacher for nine plus years, predominantly at the elementary school level and in all the core subjects. I am presently studying at Ashford University to become an elementary school teacher and studied previously at Georgetown University and at the University of Munich in Munich, Germany as a German major. Such a background has given me the flexibility to teach cross-curricular, which thrills me.

ESL/ESOL

I am an avid student of English and foreign languages. German I know with near native fluency, and I understand, speak, read, and write passable French and Spanish. I presently tutor in German and feel equipped and eager to assist others who speak a language other than English natively. I have done undergraduate work domestically and abroad at Georgetown and the University of Munich respectively. I am currently majoring in social science with an education concentration at Ashford University.
