I am proud to say I've struggled. Although I hold a Bachelor's degree from Morehouse College and graduated with honors, I am proud to say that while in grade school, I was among the least successful in my academic endeavors. I struggled with comprehension, test taking, you name it. However, after becoming privy to the fact that there is no such thing as a learning incapability, and there are only learning differences, I became determined to learn how to use my unique mind in a common academic setting. All children have unique minds, and it is up to a tutor who understands the importance of learning what makes the student's mind unique.
My philosophical studies have enabled me to be critically empathetic to a students academic needs. I have tutored students from a variety of different backgrounds, and I specialize in English, reading comprehension, and Philosophy. My most rewarding specialty, however, is the patience I have for children who are struggling, and the experience of being in their shoes. All children should and can have unattainable academic success, and I hope to become hope for those who lack it.
