Eckerd College (Philosophy)
I am currently a PhD Student in the philosophy department at Emory University. In 2013, I graduated from Eckerd College (a small liberal arts school in St. Petersburg, FL) where I received a B.A. (High Honors) in philosophy. While at Eckerd, I cultivated my passion for reading, writing and editing; I am confident that I can help to foster a similar passion in my students. I am most interested in tutoring English, Literature as well as proofreading and discussing the nuances and intricacies of grammar. I am also available for GRE, ACT, and SAT Test Prep; GRE scores (reports are available upon request):
Verbal: 168 (98th percentile)
Math: 161 (81st percentile)
Analytical Writing: 6.0 (99th percentile)
My teaching experience is quite extensive and varied. I have served as either a teaching assistant or a tutor in the following courses: Introduction to Logic, Ethics and Animal Welfare, Italian 101, 102, 201, and 202. My years of tutoring and teaching allow me to explain difficult material cogently and concisely while approaching every tutoring session with patience and understanding.
Please feel free to contact me with any specific questions, comments, or concerns. I assure you that you will receive a prompt response.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In college, the emphasis of my studies was on ancient philosophy, particularly Plato and Aristotle. To supplement these studies, I studied Classical Greek for two years wherein I translated sections from Plato's Symposium, Republic (the entire Book I), Phaedrus, and Apology as well as various sections of Homer's Iliad.
