I am unavailable until after the February ACT (February 8th).
I am currently a graduate student in a joint program between Emory and Georgia Tech pursuing a PhD in biomedical engineering. I got my bachelor's from Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN, but I went to high school in Gwinnett County here in Atlanta. I was valedictorian of my high school, got a 35 on the ACT, a 1550 on my SAT (when it was out of 1600), and went to college on a number of local and national scholarships. I have tutored more than 30 students one-on-one for various tests and subjects, and some of my most recent students saw more than 100 points of improvement on their SAT score after 20 hours of tutoring. I have taught classes on a range of college and high school level subject matter, including everything from AP Chemistry and Physics in Atlanta area high schools up to Advanced Cell and Tissue Culture at Georgia Tech.
I also ran cross country in high school and participated or led several service organizations in college and high school, so I can easily relate to a wide variety of interests and backgrounds. I bring a professional, optimistic, and energetic attitude to every session and I think that everyone can do well in school and on college entrance exams with the right coaching.
