Hello everyone! I am an 18-year-old tutor who specializes in photography and Adobe Photoshop.
I have been a professional and hobby photographer for 6 months, and I shot on and off with my coolpix for 1-2 years. I now shoot with a Canon 60D, and my lenses include a 50mm f/1.4 and a 28-80mm. I shoot various genres that include the following: events, lifestyle, city-life, nature, still-life/products, and fashion. I am primarily a natural light user, and I rarely shoot in a studio as I prefer using the light that is available and finding creative ways to bend the light as needed.
I have 3+ years of using Adobe Photoshop. I started out with CS5 and I now use CS6. I specialize in retouching, but I have some experience with graphic design. As far as retouching, I have retouched for several photographers internationally, and I have also been published.
The best way to teach is to have the student do it. Trial and error are my main ways of teaching either of these subjects. A child (and/or adult) must become accustomed to getting something wrong so that they know that everything will not be easy. I prefer for my students to do some background research on their hobby/career of interest before starting the first lesson.
Seeing a person's passion for something motivates me to teach them new things and help them grow in the right direction. I love when students send me links to their favorite photographers or their favorite works; it helps me to better design the lesson to fit what they want and need to learn.
Note: My name (Calah) is pronounced Kayla, but you all may call me CeCee if that's easier!
