I came out of my mother's womb with the gift of teaching. I have been teaching for 14 years total.
As early as 15 years old, I started teaching young children in our neighborhood at the local elementary school. In college at Mount Holyoke College where I received a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics
, for the four years I was there, I was a mathematics (calculus
usually) tutor and grader in our mathematics department and first year students always came to me because of my patience in helping them with tough assignments. I also tutored a high school student who was failing mathematics (algebra
) before I started helping him and he was able to pass his class with my help. I was committed to seeing him improve by making sure he had several assignments to practice by himself after having shown him the techniques for solving the problems. I encouraged him consistently and let him know he could do it because I believed in him... and he made it!
I am also very good with teaching children in elementary school, teaching French
essays, creative writing, biology
as well as preparing students for SATs and GREs. I am very good at music
theory as I took the Association of the Royal School of Music Board (ABRSM) Exams up to Grade 5 level and had distinction and also took Music Theory
in college. During my holidays from Graduate school where I earned a Masters' in Public Health, I spent the days tutoring elementary school children (4 of them) in reading
, French, mathematics and science
I am able to help adults who are non-native English
speakers who also need special help learning English or basic mathematics. I used to teach an elderly woman and she still thanks me today for helping her pass her mathematics class.
My teaching method is basically to first explain how things should be done (the concepts) then I believe in using examples that make the theories or concepts become real to the student. Only if they keep practicing will they 'get it.' I am very patient with my pupils/students, taking times to understand them, and very careful with students who need more time to understand what is being taught and seek to ensure that the customer is the one who benefits more from the teaching experience. I encourage the pupils/students by positive reinforcements and take time to identify their strengths and work on their weaknesses until I see improvements in their grades.
I am very well-read, very organized, professional and dedicated to seeing the student understand concepts fully. The student's improvement in the field of study is my greatest concern and I desire that he or she leaves every session having properly understood what he or she needs to.

a = 3c/2-c
First we cross multiply
a (2-c) = 3c
2a - ac = 3c
Grouping terms with c on one side...
2a = 3c + ac
Factoring c out...
Let h = horses, c = cows, and s= sheep
'18 more horses than cows' ---> c +18 = h (1)
'13 fewer cows than sheep' ---> s = c +13 (2)
'15 cows' ...
2n^2 + 4n = 0
divide through by 2
n^2 + 2n = 0
factor out n
n(n+2) = 0
n=0 or n+2 =0
Answers: n = 0 or n = -2
