I have been playing baseball
all of my life. I have been training for 2 years so far and I am in the process of restarting my business
since I've finally done playing professional baseball. I played at the University of Kentucky for 5 years, played professional for the Houston Astros for 2 years, and played for the Gateway Grizzlies (Independent Professional Baseball Team) for 1 year.
I enjoy working with players of all ages and I want to help players reach their goals and achieve their dreams. "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard". That's the way I've gone about my whole career. I always worked hard and I want to help players work hard and become better daily so they can become the future college and professional athletes.
In high school I had 3 Player of the Months, I was the MVP of our team my junior & senior year, our team made the Final Four in the state playoffs, and made first team all-county 3 years. Went to college and played in the SEC, which is the best and toughest conference in college. After college I signed with the Houston Astros and played 2 seasons then took my talents to the Frontier Independent baseball league with the Gateway Grizzlies. Now I am focusing on training young athletes to become great in all aspects.
During a hitting session I will start off with tee work. Doing some drills and working on the mechanics of the swing. Next we will do side toss and front toss to work on staying behind and through the baseball. After that once we have gotten the swing down and in order we will hit bp and work on driving the baseball.
During defense work we will start with some small drills to get going and then work on mechanics and fundamentals of the position. Fungo will always come last and we will mix in some throwing while doing defense work.
I like to make athletes mentally tough and show them how to deal with adversity no matter what. I like to focus on the swing, baserunning, speed, and knowledge of the game. All of these are important but the most important is having FUN!
