I am a accomplished and experienced journalism, news media, and communications professional who loves helping students improve their reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and math skills. I graduated at the top of my class with a communications excellence award and summa cum laude honors. I have worked at several television stations on the east coast as an anchor and reporter and a department head of a media relations unit. Currently I am helping undergraduate students and graduate students improve their academic writing skills and presentation skills, which include public speaking. I enjoy helping students of all ages to improve their writing and public speaking techniques. Those I tutor experience great success. According to the students individual learning style, I can help construct engaging methods and/or activities to build his or her vocabulary. I have used this method successfuly in the past with a diverse population of students including special needs.

Grammar

In order to improve your reading, writing, and communication skills, it is important to build a foundation in grammar. I am able to help students learn the English language system that governs the composition of clauses, phrases, and words.

Reading

I can help students improve their reading ability and comprehension skills of the subject matter they read. My methods are tailored to the individual and their learning styles. My greatest accomplisment in this area is helping my two nieces and nephew, who are special needs student, improve their reading skills.

Writing

Can assist k-12 students in improving sentence structure with appropriate tense and verb noun agreement. I also can improve their handwriting skills. For college students, I am able to teach you a method on how to structure and write academic research papers with the appropriate tense, format, and citation styles. In addition, I can help elementary students learn how to print and write.

English

Through customized English lessons, I can help students improve their grammar, vocabulary, conversation, reading, and writing skills. It does not matter if English is your native language or a secondary language. I can find an approach that will take your skills to the next level.

Spelling

Through reading, exposure to the most commonly misspelled words, and mnemonics, which is memory tricks or devices, I can help students improve their spelling abilities.

Elementary Math

Based on the individual's needs, I can teach and strengthen math skills in the area of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, counting, fractions, ratios, and word problems. In certain situations, I will use games and visual aids to reinforce the math topic being taught.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
