I graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in Arabic and political science. My passion for the Arabic language has taken me all the way to Morocco, Jordan and Lebanon to study, translate, volunteer and even work in finance and nonprofit. While studying Modern Standard Arabic at Emory kept me preoccupied for a good amount of time, I managed to find time to pursue opportunities to teach and volunteer.
In the past five years, I've gained an immense amount of pedagogical and training experience in diverse fields: coaching a swim team and teaching swim lessons all-ages and all-abilities, coordinating and leading activities for less-privileged children in Atlanta, and reading to children in bilingual education programs. While in Jordan, I worked with several financial institutions to help create a secondary education loan product for low-income students throughout the country.
I can think of no better sense of accomplishment than watching someone--child or adult--learn, improve and succeed under my direction and encouragement. I'm very enthusiastic about mixing my two greatest passions--languages and teaching--into a fun experience right here in Atlanta.
