Welcome to my WyzAnt tutoring profile and thank you for your interest!
I am an energetic, highly qualified educational professional with extensive teaching experience. I have taught 2nd-5th grades in all subjects (reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies), which includes serving students with various learning disabilities as part of the inclusion or co-teaching model. I have also tutored several elementary students in the areas of reading and/or mathematics.
I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from South Carolina State university and I also have a Master's degree in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) from Univerity of South Carolina. This education provided me with the foundation and skill-set to reach various learners with differing learning styles. I also went on to complete my Educational Specialist degree (Ed. S.) from Nova Southeastern University in Curriculum and Instruction.
In my experience as both a teacher and tutor, I focus on the students' strengths and interests to give them a valuable and student-centered learning experience, catered to their particular existing skill-set. I favor a hands-on approach which lends itself to an abundance of interaction between the student and teacher.
