In college I minored in religion, taking courses in world religions, the Gospels, Buddhism, modern philosophy and "Death of God" theology, and religious elements in modern literature. My thesis was on the work of Jesuit priest and paleontologist Teilhard de Chardin, who attempted to reconcile Christianity and Evolution. I was accepted into Yale Divinity School but instead served a mission for my church in Hiroshima, Japan. Studies included the essential unity of all religions and the influence of religion on culture and politics.
