I am a graduate student for the subject of teaching English as a second language. I am receiving my degree from the prestigious applied linguistics/Teaching English as a Second Language program at Georgia State University.
I am also especially talented at assisting with writing, editing, and academic success, because my background is in writing and editing journalism. I have written for magazines, newspapers, and online publications. I graduated cum laude (top 25%) from the University of South Florida in their mass communication/journalism program.
My teaching approach is largely up to you. If you intend to learn English for academic or school purposes, I can help you to succeed through working on class assignments, essays, and other activities. If you would like to learn conversation abilities, I can help you to focus on a more native, natural-style of conversation. Before we start, I will conduct an interview by e-mail or phone to determine what the client's background is and what they expect from a tutor.
I try to respond to e-mail within 24 hours, but I have a smart phone so I can often respond even quicker. I am flexible with working with student's schedules; however, I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy. I am usually not available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30-7:00 p.m. I am most comfortable in meeting at my home or a public location such as a library to work on tutoring; however, I am also available to meet at a location you choose.
I look forward to working with you!
