Telisha’s qualifications in specific subjects below.
Topics will include but not limited to integers, absolute values, systems of equations, pythagorean theorem, functions (including finding the domain and range, composition, logarithms, exponential, graphing), sequences, synthetic division, matrices, polynomials, factoring, radicals and rational exponents, and equations and inequalities.
Subjects will be covered according to Georgia State Standards. This subject will include equation and inequalities, exponential and logarithmic functions, irrational and complex numbers, polynomials, quadratic equations and functions, rational expressions, real numbers and expressions, systems of equality and inequality, triangle properties and relationships, also inconsistent equations and inequalities.
This subject will cover multiplication, division, subtraction, and addition of single digits and beyond. Also, fractions, decimals, percentages, and counting with money will be introduced.
Science was my second favorite subject in school overall. I enjoyed learning about atoms and molecules, the functions of the human body such as the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and skeletal systems. Science is also a cool way to explain the forces of nature and their causes.
Subject includes the following: parallel and perpendicular slopes and lines, point-slope formula, slopes, triangles and other polygons, area, perimeter, volume, types of angles, measurement of angles, midpoint formula, distance, radius, elliptic geometry, cartesian coordinates, congruence and similarities, and theorems.
This subject will include all lessons in parts of speech, parts of a sentence, and the mechanics of grammar.
During my collegiate career as a math major undergrad, I've taken upper-level math courses including Linear Algebra. I've participated in group study sessions as well as independent studies and had to devote at least 30-35 hours/week of studying. While I was taking the second course of Linear Algebra, I used MATLAB software as a class project to solve complex matrices and determinant systems as well as solving for eigenvectors/values. I would love the opportunity to tutor this subject because I've mastered it, can teach students how to study for this course, and it is a fun course overall.
This was the subject that jump started my passion for math. The concepts for Prealgebra includes introduction to integers, order of operations, order of operations with exponents, writing algebraic expressions, writing algebraic equations, whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, proportions, inequalities, and more math properties.
I'm an excellent speller. In grade school my teachers would give a list of spelling words to study on an weekly basis and were given a quiz the following day. On my quizzes/tests I made all A's and my strategies were to use letters as objects/things/and names (for example, s as in Sam) or I would learn how to spell words by some type of rhythm in my head. Some of my classmates knew this skill of mine and asked me to spell words for them and even today with some of my peers and family.
Trigonometry is branch of mathematics that studies triangles and their relationships between their sides and angles. Trigonometric functions are most simply defined using the unit circle. This topic will include angle measures, pythagorean theorem, trig functions- the magic identity, the addition formulas, double-angle and half-angle formulas, and product and sum formulas, trig equations, hyperbolic trig, and many more.
