Medical illustrator with experience in design, animation,& photography

I am a certified medical illustrator, who has been working in the field for 9 years. I earned a BFA in Painting/Design from East Carolina University and a MS in Medical Illustration from Medical College of Georgia. I can help with all the visual arts, computer design programs, motion graphics programs (such as Flash, AfterEffects, Softimage, and Maya), as well as basic health sciences. I am new to WyzAnt, but I have done some one on one tutoring at my professional conventions. I am very patient, try to encourage questions, and try to make sure the person understands topics or suggestions I try to teach.

Adobe Flash

I'm a certified medical illustrator, who is experienced with Adobe Creative Suite and 3D animation. With Flash, I can introduce animation principles and how to use its interface for Actionscript.

Web Design

I am familiar with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash (including AS3), Dreamweaver, and standards for Gecko, Webkit, and IE browsers. While using Dreamweaver, I generally stay within the scripting area to directly script HTML and CSS script. I have a web certificate from Emory University and can help with general layout or Javascript issues.

Adobe Photoshop

I have professional experience with Adobe Creative Suite. I stay current with versions and can teach techniques for graphic design, illustration, animation, or photo retouching.

Video Production

I am experienced with DV standards (be it NTSC, HD, or web). My main compositing program is Adobe AfterEffects. I can demonstrate encoding formats for blu-ray, HDTV, HTML5, as well as other standards.

Drawing

I am a certified medical illustrator in the area. I hold a BFA in painting/drawing from East Carolina University. My main focus was life drawing and figure painting for a portfolio to be accepted in a medical illustration graduate program. I can offer basic drawing techniques (using pencil, chalk, or ink) and advanced anatomical/ figure drawing.

Photography

My profession is medical illustration with an emphasis on 3D animation. I have had an interest in photography all my life, and shoot amateur portraits (including family weddings), landscapes, and HDR lightmaps for my 3D animation. Painting

I have a BFA in painting from East Carolina University. I am familiar with tempra painting, watercolors (though I am not a watercolorist), acrylics, and oil painting. While I was getting a BFA, I knew I wanted to become a medical illustrator...so I focused on figure and life painting. I then got a MS in medical illustration (from Medical College of Georgia). I can teach drawing skills, painting techniques, and surface anatomy to any art student.

Maya

I am a certified medical illustrator in the area, who has focused on 3D animation. Since I have a specialized market, I have to stay a 3D generalist. My main program that I use is Softimage now, but I have also been a Maya user. Since I am used to changing platforms, I believe in teaching the fundamentals of 3D. Pleasant but I needed more — David was pleasant. He is skilled in photoshop however, I needed specific skills in relationship to preparing files for printing. Color stabilization across multi-page books and photo manipulation. I don't feel those particular skills were strong enough for what I needed to learn in a very short amount of time.
