I provide personalized American accent English lessons for ESL adults, online and face-to-face, using the latest technology. My clients include both international working professionals and graduate school scholars requiring advanced English communication skills. I resource my Kennesaw State University TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification training, international linguistics experience, modern teaching strategies, and LinkedIn teacher network.
I am available to tutor my ESL clients, daily, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Atlanta time. I often collaborate with clients to script, proofread, and pronounce the American accent English oral and written presentations required of them. I usually tutor English in person, but also use the latest online conference meeting connections to accommodate my client's needs during their frequent business trips.
SPECIALTIES: My ESL specialties include the modeling of the Standard American accent English pronunciation and eloquent speaking practices associated with well educated North Americans. I actively promote non-native English accent reduction, phrasal verb vocabulary, oral presentation scripting, and narrative proofreading.
Are you planning an especially important business trip? Let's create a list of the English questions you are likely to be asked and practice your best American accent answers. We can prepare and practice effective telephone dialogues together until you are completely confident speaking English on the phone? When you review your PowerPoint presentations with me, we can collaborate to view and edit your dialog and the text on your slides.
CLIENTS: Many of the long-term ESL scholars that I assist are the Asian and Hispanic graduate school students and working professionals associated with Atlanta's finest institutions. They report huge improvements in their American accent English pronunciation and written presentation skills after meeting with me for as little as three months. My clients often validate my respectful dedication to their English communication goals with excellent reviews and high lesson ratings. I am extremely grateful to these ESL learners for the trust they place in my teaching abilities.
BACKGROUND: I am a native born California advocate of life-long learning. My parents demanded that my English class papers meet or exceed their professional editing English standards. I attended junior high school at a private English-speaking school in Bangkok, Thailand before graduating from a well-respected Los Angeles high school where I excelled in my English, Spanish, and world history classes. I received top marks in my German, journalism, and photography classes at Northern California's College of the Redwoods before accepting a scholarship to study public communications and photojournalism at Syracuse University in New York. Armed with my Syracuse University Communications credentials, linguistic background, and an eagerness to accept overseas opportunities, I pursued overlapping careers in government service, maritime hospitality, and medical technology, as well as print and online news photojournalism.
During the many years that I studied and worked abroad in Thailand, Japan, Hawaii, Germany, and the Caribbean Islands, I became familiar with many of the world's diverse cultures. I frequently accepted opportunities to tutor my American accent English skills to enthusiastic ESL scholars at every stop. In return, I was frequently invited to visit my student's homes and dine with their families and friends.
Returning to college coursework in 2007, I earned a professional medical credential and worked in diagnostic Sleep Medicine Technology. This course of study required that I became familiar with the latest medical electronic technology, patient safety standards, and computerized diagnostic practices. Accordingly, I am particularly well qualified to tutor English language skills to Atlanta's many ESL medical professionals.
INVITATION: Thank you for considering the grateful student reviews and high lesson ratings posted on my WyzAnt profile by enthusiastic ESL clients. I always enjoy meeting foreign-born working professionals, graduate school students, and newly arrived Atlanta hopefuls. I invite you to contact me to discuss your American accent English learning objectives. (Updated: June 2013)
