I am very excited to help you gain the confidence you need to succeed in math and science! These are subjects that anyone can master provided they are willing to persevere.

I have a broad range of teaching experiences. I have taught complex mechanical and biomedical engineering principles to graduate and undergraduate students in formal classroom and laboratory settings. In addition I have tutored many high school and college students in foundational math and physics skills. I can help you build confidence in these difficult subjects!

I have a deep understanding of principles of math, science, and engineering as well as a passion to help others reach the same understanding. My understanding has come while earning a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University and PhD in Bioengineering from Georgia Tech. In addition I have worked in a prosthetic laboratory designing new tools for persons with limb loss for two years.

Differential Equations

Differential Equations is an intimidating and potentially frustrating course. The course is usually taken by engineering students and taught by mathematics professors. The pure mathematical approach can be discouraging to engineering students and make the course seem like a waste of time. As an engineer who encounters differential equations on a weekly basis, I can help you see the importance and application of this very useful subject.

MATLAB

I have 8 years' experience working with MATLAB and I code in MATLAB an average of about 15 hours/week. I have never taken a course in MATLAB but I have real world experience with the core features/syntax/theory and many of the toolboxes.

Mechanical Engineering

I have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and work in a related field (bioengineering). I have a very strong foundation in mechanics fundamentals, especially statics, classical dynamics, and control systems.
