My name is Stephen and I am an entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in all levels of the business world.
Having run a variety of businesses, I can teach many aspects of business.
I have done remedial tutoring to elementary student while in college. It was very rewarding for me and my student advanced four grade levels in reading and math within 6 weeks.
My wife and I have raised two sons that have graduated college and have successful careers. We have no grandchildren yet, so I would enjoy interacting with children of any age. I feel I can communicate well with children to find a direction for motivation in academic areas.
I prefer tutoring because the rate of improvement can be very accelerated once a student sees a value in the knowledge to be obtained. I think that a broad vision of the aspects of knowledge greatly enhances the learning experience. As such, my strengths would be in working with a student to "learn how to learn" a subject, rather than tutor to reach a certain score on a standardized test. If obtainment of knowledge is done for the improvement of one's mind, the scores will easily follow.
