Math has always seemed interesting to me. It just makes sense. It's logical. It's that type of reasoning that helped me to move through Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and Calculus in high school. In college, my studies continued with Calculus, Differential Equations, Complex Variables, and Physics, all leading towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
After graduation, via a strange and winding path, I began to take an interest in becoming a health care actuary. While enjoying the classroom again, I also passed 6 actuarial exams covering Calculus (again), Probability, Applied Statistics, Numerical Methods, and Compound Interest. It's this spectrum of mathematics, from high school through post baccalaureate, which I feel most comfortable tutoring.
I also became even more proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. So, if there are questions or invaluable tips that I can help someone with, I can also provide direction with these Microsoft Office programs.
I recently tested my own math skills by taking and passing the GACE Content Assessment for Mathematics (022 -023) for teacher certification in the State of Georgia.
I've also added a few more skills that I'd like to share with others: QuickBooks Pro and Accounting Principles.
