I am recognized as one of the top 200 tutors in the country by WyzAnt and I am certified by the National Tutoring Association. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Binghamton University, State University of New York in 2005, I have over 7 years of teaching experience, working directly with students and helping them in various subjects. I tutor algebra and statistics, and a few of my students went from an F to a B in months. Also, I prepared/currently prepare students for the reading, writing, and math sections of SATs/ACTs (students improve by as much as 150 points per section). I guarantee my student will improve his or her test scores. My last ACT student told me he's going to miss working with me, while my current elementary math student said I make learning fun. I receive wonderful feedback from children and adults I tutor, and my elementary students even give me hugs when I leave.
I am very patient and I make sure the student thoroughly understands a topic before moving on. I motivate the student to succeed and teach good study skills and test-taking skills. For standardized tests, I use prep books, such as Princeton Review. Students do best when they are encouraged and receive positive feedback.
The following is a list of subjects I tutor: English-reading and writing, proofreading/grammar, elementary(K-6th), GRE, ESL, literature, psychology, SAT math, SAT reading/writing, ACT, SSAT/CRCT, GED, LSAT, Russian, vocabulary, algebra, and statistics.
Cancellation fee is assessed if I am not given a 6 hour notice.
P.S. my rating is below 5 stars in large part due to a student giving me 1 star ratings for cancelled sessions.
