First of all, and most importantly, I have to say that I love teaching. I am currently studying to be an English as a Second Language teacher at the University of Georgia and I can't imagine doing anything else. I have experience as a volunteer ESL tutor and I have also done some informal tutoring with friends and family, as well as several job shadows of ESL teachers working at an English language institute in Bogota, Colombia.
As you may have gathered, I also just love languages. I have been studying Spanish for 3 years and Portuguese for a year and a half. I have also studied linguistics and the mechanics of language acquisition, which means that I'm much better prepared to help you or your child develop your skills in these languages.
Of course, my first language is English, so I'm also more than happy to help you or your child with any issues involving English reading or writing skills, including SAT preparation, essay writing/proofreading, grammar, etc. I have been taking college level English courses since I was 15, and I received two perfect scores on the SAT's Critical Reading and Writing Sections.
I pride myself on being able to offer very clear explanations of complex concepts and ideas. I consider myself to be very well organized and prepared as well.
