My name is Savannah S., and I am a graduate student at UGA's department of Human Development and Family Science.
In May, 2012, I graduated from Valdosta State University with a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Spanish.
I have worked with children for many years at camps as a Camp Director/Counselor and as a Youth Group Director.
I would love the opportunity to help you or your children learn a subject more efficiently, and I realize that we all learn a little differently.
My mother and most of the women in my family are teachers, so I have grown up in the teaching environment.
My tutoring methods vary according to the student's and family's needs, but I like to find ways to help the student soak in the knowledge as they read, listen and do their homework. I think to learn most effectively, a student must be active in the learning process, but I realize that with all of the distractions in life this can be a challenge. I would challenge your student to find ways to focus on the material and try to apply it so that learning is a more permanent process.
I am a member of the Episcopal Church, I have a 2-year old Weimaraner named Manfred, and I love coffee, cooking, crafting, camping and kayaking (alliteration!).
I hope to here from you soon, please feel free to contact me for more information!
