I am a Middle School Language Arts Teacher with nine years of teaching experience. I specialize in Grammar, Reading Comprehension, and Writing. Over the last nine years, 85% of all of the students that I have tutored, including special needs, have met or exceeded standards on the CRCT.

Being a teacher of nine years has totally been a blessing. My passion lies in creating unique ways to engage students in new concepts. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a degree in Journalism. I have a book of "best practices" that I have compiled over the years which I use to assist struggling students in the areas mentioned above. My schedule is flexible, and because each child has a different learning style, I will tailor my lessons specifically to your child's needs. I look forward to helping your child succeed.

Vocabulary

Highly skilled in teaching vocabulary acquisition with the use of "best practices" that I have created over the years. I have numerous interactive strategies to engage students into the lessons, most of which include games and graphic organizers.

I have numerous techniques that I have used in my classroom over the past nine years that have proven to boost the CRCT scores and aptitude of my students.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been a middle school teacher for nine years. I have taught sixth grade for six of those years. One of my strengths is assisting kids make the transition from elementary to middle school a smooth one.

Basketball

I have nine years of basketball head coaching experience at the middle school level (boys and girls), 3 City Championships (one boys and two girls...Back to Back City Championships in 2009 and 2010). I have also had 4 straight appearances in girls' city championships (2007-2011)

Our Varsity Girls team consists of 11 of 15 of my former players (four of five starters are former players, and at least 3 players for each of the last three years have made varsity as freshmen.

Baseball

I have seven years of middle school baseball head coaching experience. Additionally, I have two years of varsity baseball coaching experience

Four former players have signed college scholarships (Albany State University, Middle GA College, Andrews College)
