I graduated from Morehouse College with a bachelors of science in Biology with aspirations of entering the field of medicine. At Morehouse, I participated in a wide range of extracurricular activities dealing with organizing and serving students at the collegiate and high school level. In College, I served at the President of a mentoring program. More recently, I serve as an academic and spiritual mentor to a number of students at UGA through a campus chartered Christian organization. I also worked for the School of Public Health as a graduate assistant.
As a member of a well-known community organization, I also served as the Co-Chairmen of Rite of Passage Program. This program involved mentoring a small group of young men via weekly summer classes. Each class was designed to instill a skill in these young men that they would need in adulthood. Classes include health promotion, business etiquette, American history, financial responsibility, and career selection. I was responsible for acquiring teachers, conducting community service projects, organizing field trips and providing refreshment for each weekly session. The culmination of the program is highlighted by a graduation ceremony with family and friends honoring the young men.
I value timeliness, hard work, determination and patience. I am an advocate for teaching so that the information remains with the student. I am confident that my experience, skills, interests, and enthusiasm for learning make me a uniquely qualified candidate for the job. As a tutor, I hope to encourage and inspire young minds to achieve results beyond their expectations.
