I want you to be thoroughly engaged while you are learning. We will employ a variety of methods to enable this learning process. Once we determine your learning style we will use that information to tailor a program of lessons that will add to your success.

Thank You Prospective Students.
My experience consists of teaching my own children for the past fourteen years, being a Substitute Teacher, and a Paraprofessional for four years. My best subjects are: Reading, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Composition Writing.
Currently, my interests include working with both Regular and Special Needs pupils.
My experience in teaching English as a second language was affirmed when I used to Substitute Teach for the Clarke County School District. I have taught seven ESOL/ESL classes. In addition, my neighbors are Hispanic, and we teach each other our primary language.
It is simply amazing that Spanish and English words can sometimes be understood without taking courses to study the language. It is also fun to watch television in Spanish; especially commercials and talk shows. We can learn a lot that way.
I have been a computer user since the late 1980's. My education consists of a diploma certificate from Interactive Learning Systems in 1990. I graduated with a double major in Word Processing and Automated Accounting. In addition, I took a general computer applications course at Athens Technical College in 2008.
I have been taking courses online at three schools in the past seven years to complete my Teaching Certification in Learning Disabilities at the University of Georgia, my MS at Brenau University, and my current program of study which is General Psychology at Capella University.
My experience in Public Speaking began as an undergraduate at Brenau University in the early 1990's. Since then I have taken a Public Speaking - Speech Communications at Athens Technical Institute in 2008. In addition, the eight graduate level courses that I took form 2007-2009 at Brenau University in Norcross, Georgia required us to present projects to the class and our instructors each semester for a grade. We used PowerPoint slides in our presentations.
My experience in the field of religion is comprised of the courses that I have taken as an undergraduate student at Brenau University, and the University of Georgia via their Independent Study Program. My personal study has been mainly Christianity, but I have been introduced to Buddhism, Taoism, Mormonism, and the Pentacostal disciplines as well.
I have taken 33 semester hours in Learning Disabilities courses at the University of Georgia. Two of these classes (6 hours) were in student teaching. In addition, I have taught as a Substitute Teacher for the Clarke County School District in several Special Education Classrooms; the specializations were Emotional Behavior Disordered, Mildly Intellectually Delayed, and Severely Intellectually Delayed.
I would love to help you organize your time in hopes of making your study time relevant and valuable.
I have been a student for most of my life. Thus far I have earned a diploma in Word Processing and Automated Accounting, a BS in Public Administration, a MS in Organizational Development, and am currently studying for a PhD in General Psychology online at Capella University.
I have 33 semester hours in learning disabilities certification from the University of Georgia. I need one student teaching course and have to pass two tests to become certified to teach grades K - 12. In addition, I have five more courses to complete an AS in Paralegal Studies at Athens Technical College. I plan to start back this Summer to complete this coursework because the public schools are laying off teachers, and I have to have a teaching job to complete my final practicum at UGA.
