Hello,
My name is Lina M., I was born and raised in Colombia. I moved to the United States when I was 10 years old. Since I can remember, I loved to teach my cousins and friends. I lived in Miami, Florida, for most of the time and I recently moved to Georgia. I graduated as an undergrad at Florida International University and I am currently working on my master's as a behavior analysis and autism major. I worked at Behavior Analysis, Inc., for five years, where I was an autism therapist. Teaching children is my passion. I have had experience training parents, coworkers and other therapists to interact with children with special needs. This is where most of my experience relies, but I have worked as a paraprofessional for first graders in the math department. I helped children who have had difficulty learning a specific area. In addition to this, I am a Spanish speaker and writer. As I mentioned, I lived in Colombia for ten years of my life and my entire family speaks Spanish. I would love to work with you and your child.
The most important thing for me is also to come up with different teaching techniques, for the child to be motivated to learn. Many times the lack of motivation is what decreases our understanding in a certain subject.
I can also assist parents with problem behaviors. I am finishing my master's on behavior analysis and autism and have plenty of experience with consulting and training parents in an effort of behavior reduction.
I am now available only in the mornings. If possible I can go to schools as well.
Thank you for your time,
Lina M.
