I am a recent Berklee College of Music graduate and I have experience teaching private guitar, bass, and music theory lessons at Berklee College of Music's summer programs. I'm always thrilled when someone wants to learn about music so I enjoy when students bring me musical material that they are inspired by or working on so that we can dissect it together. It gives the students the opportunity to hear for themselves what is going on in the music and make theoretical sense of it. We figure it out together, and its wonderful ear-training practice.

I have experience teaching both Jazz and traditional tonal harmony and I can teach composition lessons as well.

Composition (Music)

I received my Bachelors of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music in May of 2012. At Berklee I was required to study many semesters of advanced levels of ear-training, Jazz and Classical Harmony, as well as composition.

Ear Training

At Berklee students spend four semesters taking advanced ear-training. After the four semesters of ear-training, students then must take two semesters of conducting classes. General Music

At Berklee students are required to take a rigorous 120 credit hours of different music classes in the subjects of private lessons, jazz theory, classical theory, performance ensembles, ear-training, conducting, and music history. I still use many of the techniques and materials that I learned from the schools legendary faculty during my studies.

Guitar

I graduated from Berklee College of Music in may of 2012 majoring in Music Performance. While at the school students may use elective credits to learn additional instruments, so I took guitar classes from the Berklee Guitar faculty. I also have experience teaching students private guitar lessons from my old studio that was located in Boston, near the school.

Music History

At Berklee students are required to study the History of Western Music, focusing on both classical and jazz subjects.

Sight Singing

At Berklee students take four semesters of melodic and harmonic ear-training. At first the material is very diatonic, but it eventually progresses to very chromatic and even modal examples that are very advanced. I love sight-singing because it helps develop you musically even if you are not a singer.

Songwriting

I received my Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music where I got the opportunity to study many different areas of songwriting included but not limited to: Harmony, Composition, Re-harmonization Techniques, and Arranging.
