Hello Math Students! I love math and I love teaching math in an interesting and fun way! Math is everywhere and we all need math everyday so why not be good at it?!
I have 14+ years experience teaching Math to grades 2-12 with 9 years teaching middle school math and 5 years teaching high school math. There are usually at least 2 ways to solve a problem and I teach my students to use the easiest and best way for THEM to do it! Some of us are naturally good at math and others of us have to work a little harder at it - but we all can do it!
I also have several years experience in careers that use a lot of math - employee benefits consulting, telecommunications consulting, and I worked for the DOD as a Mathematician-Interdisciplinary-Physicist (yes a rocket scientist!)
I like to tell my students that I did not know what I wanted to be when I was in middle school or high school (maybe a banker?) but if I had not worked hard and done well in my math and science classes I would not have been able to take advantage of the opportunities that presented themselves to me after college.
Don't limit your future choices! Math is so important to so many careers. And the most important thing you will learn through your studies of Mathematics is how to be a logical thinker - a problem solver - valuable to any career choice you will make!
Let me share my joy and knowledge of Mathematics with you!
