In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In addition to having been a lifelong sketch artist winning art awards in junior high and high school school levels, I have also taken various drawing courses at both Perimeter College as well as Georgia State University. These have ranged from basic drawing all the way through to complex sketching along with capturing the ornate and intricate details of architecture.
Through drawing, I am able to instruct my students in line, shapes, shading, shadowing, as well as the proportion of both animate as well as inanimate objects.
I work with mediums from various types of lead pencils to all types of charcoal.
I have been teaching singing and song writing for a number years and have instructed students of all ages. I currently instruct as a vocal and song writing instructor and have taught many students one-on-one. My methodology involves helping develop the student's listening skills and ear training. I do this through either playing various notes on a piano. For students who have trouble in this area, I employ the use of a pitch pipe, which slowly but surely develops their ability to differentiate between pitches and hear notes correctly. As students develop their ability to hear more notes, I also teach them to sing these notes simultaneously, thus advancing their ability to hear and recite what it is they hear. My training comes from the Georgia State School of music.
Not only am I an English tutor, I’m also an English language teacher. I have assisted countless students (for whom English was a second language) and provided them with quick and effective ways to acquire a good grasp of both spoken as well as written English. I do this by immersing my ESL/ESOL students in every aspect of English, from speaking, to reading, to vocabulary building. In practice, my methodology has yielded tremendous results with my ESL/ESOL students. I am certified in English, grammar, GRE, public speaking, reading, SAT Reading, TOEFL preparation, vocabulary and writing. I combine all of these skills with my excellent spoken English language skills into creating a strategy that leads to success for each and every one of my ESL/ESOL students.
Persian is the English language term used for a language which is known as “Farsi” in Iran, “Dari” in Afghanistan and "Tajiki" in Tajikistan. The language has its roots in Avestan, though it borrowed loan words over the course of time from Arabic. Essentially, it is an Indo-European language making learning it for a native English speaker easier than languages that do not belong to the greater Indo-European language families. Not only am I a native speaker of this language, I have in the past, also assisted in lexical compilations of this language for dictionaries and word lists (including poetry) and am also a member of ACT in order to help them with their translation and interpretation needs. Furthermore, I also am one of the listed instructors of Farsi at a local language institute and have instructed countless students in this language over the years.

The language has its roots in Sanskrit tough it borrows loan words over the course of time from Arabic. Essentially, it is however an Indo-European language making learning it for a native English speaker easier than languages that do not belong to the greater Indo-European language families. Not only am I a native speaker of this language, I have in the past, also assisted in lexical compilations of this language for dictionaries and word lists (including poetry) and am also a member of ACT in order to help them with their translation and interpretation needs.
Having worked with paint since childhood, I have additionally taken various courses in painting at both Perimeter College as well as Georgia State University. These have ranged from a basic introduction to painting all the way through to the complex mixing of paints in order to create the perfect painting with a smattering of different hues.
I am myself the creator of many paintings made with both oils as well as acrylics and the subjects of my concentration have ranged from various types of animals (such as elephants) to buildings (both skyscrapers as well as less imposing structures).
Through painting, I am able to instruct my students in mixing and matching colors as well as applying these colors in order to create stellar shapes and objects whether on paper, on a canvas or a mural on the wall. I am able to instruct in/with both oil colors as well as acrylic paint.
Not only have I taken public speaking from Speech 101 in college to full scale public speaking presentations throughout my Journalism and Business Administration degrees, I also teach and instruct people to enhance and improve their vocal technique during for both singing and speaking in public. Along with teaching vocal techniques for public speaking, I also give various pointers to individuals on creating confidence, poise and commanding the attention of others through projection, clarity and correct body language.

I am a life-long swimmer and swim instructor. Growing up, I participated in numerous galas and excelled in crawl and breast stroke. I have also taught swimming at swim Atlanta and am able to work with beginners, intermediates and advanced levels. My methodology not only involves teaching my students how to execute their swim strokes accurately but also shows them how to breathe correctly. This makes for optimal energy conservation while swimming and helps counter fatigue. I am also proudly dedicated to increasing awareness on the importance of being able to swim. For not only is swimming a great exercise and an asset to staying healthy, increasing the number of swimmers in our society may also help counter the many needless drowning deaths that occur on a yearly basis. My hope is to help lessen such deaths by teaching more individuals how to swim.
I am a life long vocal coach and singing instructor specializing in the genres of classical, pop, R & B, rock, jazz and country. I have given private vocal lessons for a few years. I teach my students how to sing, or in the alternative, improve their singing skills by gains breath control, increasing stamina and broadening their upper and lower ranges. I also help them increase their confidence and the combined result is a student who not only greatly improves his or her vocal performance skills, but is ready to showcase them.
