I have spent over 10 years teaching a variety of levels and students. Over that period, I have filled teaching roles such as:
1. ESL instructor of international adults. I have worked with students from Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. I speak with no distinctive regional accent.
2. Weekly lecturer to 200 women involved in an international faith group for over six years. I wrote and delivered lectures that examined Biblical texts and encouraged life applications.
3. After-school tutor of 8-14 y.o. in study skills, Social Studies, English, Writing, conducting research assignments, and presenting oral reports.
4. Middle school English teacher, curriculum included Reading, Creative Writing, Research Writing, Spelling.
As a mother and teacher, I know that motivating students is no small task. Through my years of teaching, I've developed creative ways to cover material and to identify a student's optimal learning style so that he will gain self-confidence and tangible results. To that end, I strive to create an encouraging, supportive atmosphere founded on trust between the student and teacher. One of my primary goals as a teacher is to establish a set of goals and strategies that the student embraces. When a student commits to the process, I am convinced that nothing can stand between him and improved outcomes!
